Journeys Through Search

Salesforce re-admit workflow for behavioral healthOne click to start the next episode, with the whole history kept.

When a former patient comes back, admissions should not retype a chart or create a duplicate. We build a re-admit button in Salesforce that opens a new, numbered opportunity on the same account, carries over what is already known, keeps the EMR patient ID, and sends the new episode to your EMR.

  • A re-admit button on the opportunity
  • Each episode numbered: - 1, - 2, - 3
  • The EMR patient ID carried over, so no duplicate chart
  • Data quality checks before the episode is sent

Why re-admits need their own workflow in Salesforce

A re-admit is not a new lead. The patient has an account, a past opportunity and a chart in the EMR. Treating them as new splits the history and creates a second patient in the EMR.

Our re-admit button keeps every episode on the same account. Each opportunity is named with the patient name and the episode number, so anyone can see each admission and open each stay.

The button carries the EMR patient ID, such as the Kipu Master ID, so the new episode lands on the existing patient. Where a billing platform like HiLite is connected, the workflow looks up the existing HiLite record too.

Built with Lightning Web Components, Apex and flows, so it fits your fields, stages and permissions.

Salesforce re-admit workflow for behavioral health FAQ

What does the re-admit button do?

It creates a new, numbered opportunity under the same account, copies over the details you already have, keeps the EMR patient ID, and flags missing data before the episode is sent.

Will it create a duplicate patient in the EMR?

No. The EMR patient ID, such as the Kipu Master ID, goes with the new episode so it lands on the existing patient.

Which EMRs does it work with?

Kipu and Sunwave, through our two-way integrations with Salesforce.

Can alumni re-admits be tracked?

Yes. Re-admits and alumni tracking work together, so you can see which returns came through the alumni program.

Do you sign a BAA?

Yes. We sign BAAs for healthcare work.

How is it priced?

By project, not by the hour. The first call is free, and you get a project quote after it.
