Journeys Through Search

Salesforce SSO setupOne login. Open every system from the Salesforce record.

Your team already lives in Salesforce. With Salesforce set up as the identity provider, a button on the record signs them into the connected system and opens the right patient or client, with no second password and no searching.

  • Salesforce as the identity provider, using SAML
  • "Open in" buttons that land on the right record, not a blank screen
  • Users, certificates and MFA set up and kept working

What happens when someone clicks

  1. 1
    Click "Open in…"

A button on the Salesforce record, next to the work they are already doing

  2. 2
    Salesforce signs them in

A signed SAML login, matched to their user by Federation ID

  3. 3
    Lands on the record

The other system opens on that patient or client, not a search page

What SSO means here

Single sign-on means one login for several systems. Here, Salesforce is the identity provider: it vouches for the user, and the connected system trusts it instead of asking for its own password.

The part setups miss is the landing. A login that drops people on the other system’s home page still makes them search for the record. We pass the record ID with the login, so they arrive on the right patient or client.

What's included

What Salesforce SSO setup includes

Identity provider setup

Salesforce enabled as a SAML identity provider, with its certificate, and the connected app configured on both sides.

Deep links to the record

"Open in" buttons that pass the record ID, so users land on the right patient or client file.

User matching

Federation IDs set on every user who needs access, and name or email changes kept in sync so logins do not break.

Certificates

Certificates set up, renewed when they come due, and more than one where a system needs it.

A clean loading step

A branded loading screen while the other system opens, so users know it is working.

Onboarding checklist

A step-by-step checklist for adding new staff, so access does not depend on one person remembering how.

MFA and login policies

Multi-factor authentication set up for the users who need it, and login settings that match how your team works.

Salesforce SSO setup FAQ

Does the other system need to support SAML?

Yes. Salesforce signs users in with SAML, so the other system has to accept a SAML login. We check that on a free call.

Do users still need a password for the other system?

Not for logging in through Salesforce. They sign in to Salesforce once, and the button signs them into the connected system.

What happens when a certificate expires?

SSO stops working until a new certificate is in place. We note the expiry date at setup and can handle the renewal, so it does not catch your team off guard.

Is it secure for patient data?

Logins are signed and nothing is shared but what the other system needs to identify the user and the record. We sign a BAA for healthcare work.

How is it priced?

By project, not by the hour. The first call is free, and a 3-hour starter is available if you want one system done first.
