Journeys Through Search

3CX Salesforce integrationKnow who is calling, and keep every call on the record

3CX has a built-in Salesforce integration for caller lookup, call journaling, contact creation and click to call. We set it up and extend it with the 3CX and Salesforce APIs, so calls land on a custom call activity object that holds long notes, new callers follow your lead rules, and call data reaches your reports.

  • 3CX Salesforce integration set up, then extended
  • Calls saved to a custom call activity object that holds long text
  • Click to call from Salesforce through 3CX

Calls journaled, but not where reports can use them

Out of the box, 3CX journals calls as short call records on the contact. Long notes and summaries do not fit, new callers are created the same way every time, and reports cannot tell which calls led to deals.

What it does

What the 3CX Salesforce integration handles

01

Native integration, extended

We set up the 3CX Salesforce integration, with caller lookup, journaling and click to call, then build what your process needs beyond it.

02

Calls to a call activity object

Each call is also saved to a custom activity object built for calls, so long notes, AI call summaries and transcripts fit. Salesforce Tasks cannot hold that much text.

03

Caller lookup

Inbound calls look up the caller by number, so agents see the name before they answer.

04

Lead rules for new callers

A call from a new number creates a lead or a contact under the rules you choose, with lead source and owner applied.

05

Click to call

Agents call from Salesforce through the 3CX Click2Call browser extension, and the call is logged on the same record.

06

Reporting fields

Direction, duration, extension, queue and outcome written to fields on the call record, so reports can group by them.

Built for real life

3CX Salesforce integration: the hard parts, already solved

Person Accounts

3CX does not support orgs with Person Accounts turned on. We check your org first and build the matching through the API where needed.

API access

The integration needs the Salesforce REST API turned on. We confirm your edition before setup.

Same caller, different formats

Numbers are set to one format before matching, so a caller does not end up on two records.

We look at how calls reach your team today, which queues and agents take them, and what your team needs to see on the record.

  2. 2

    Mapping

Which records calls match or create, which fields carry over, and where calls, notes and recordings are logged, agreed first.

  3. 3

    Set up and test

The native integration set up or the API build done, then tested with real calls before your team relies on it.

  4. 4

    Go live

Running in the background, with support if your numbers, queues or process change.

3CX Salesforce integration FAQ

Does 3CX connect to Salesforce out of the box?

Yes. 3CX has a Salesforce integration for caller lookup, call journaling, contact creation and click to call. We set it up and build the pieces it does not cover.

Where do the calls go in Salesforce?

To a custom call activity object, so long notes, AI call summaries and transcripts fit. Tasks and Events cannot hold long text.

Do we need a special Salesforce edition?

The 3CX integration needs the Salesforce REST API, and it does not support Person Accounts. We check your org before setup.

How is it priced?

By project, not by the hour. The first call is free, and you get a project quote after it.
