Nextiva Salesforce integrationEvery call on the right record, with the recording one click away
Nextiva has its own Salesforce app for click-to-dial, screen pops and call logging. We set it up and extend it with the Nextiva and Salesforce APIs, so callers land on the right lead, every call is saved to a call activity object that holds long notes and summaries, and recordings play from the record.
- Native Nextiva app set up, then extended
- Calls saved to a custom call activity object, with notes and the recording
- New callers created as leads, repeat callers matched by phone

Calls in the phone system, leads in Salesforce
When Nextiva and Salesforce are not working together, reps type calls in by hand or skip them. Repeat callers become new leads, recordings sit in another portal, and managers cannot tell a voicemail from a real conversation.
What it does
What the Nextiva Salesforce integration handles
Native app, extended
We set up the Nextiva app for Salesforce, with click-to-dial and screen pops, then build what your process needs beyond it.
Calls to a call activity object
Each call is saved to a custom activity object built for calls, so long notes, AI call summaries and transcripts fit. Salesforce Tasks cannot hold that much text.
Leads from new callers
An inbound call from a new number creates a lead, with your lead source and owner rules applied.
Phone matching
Numbers are normalized and matched to the existing lead or contact first, so one caller stays one record.
Recordings on the record
Recordings play from the Salesforce record through a secure link, so nobody logs in to another portal to listen.
Voicemail or answered
Outbound calls get a disposition that tells a voicemail apart from a person answering, so call counts mean something.
The real agent name
Calls show the name of the rep who made or took them, not a system address.
Missed-call follow-up
A missed call can create a follow-up for the lead owner, so the callback has an owner.
Texting
Texts sent from the record through our Send SMS widget, wired to the texting your phone plan or SMS platform provides, with the Approved to SMS opt-in checked first.
Try it: connect two systems

Built for real life
Nextiva Salesforce integration: the hard parts, already solved
Calls through a call tracker
When calls pass through a call tracking number before Nextiva, both sides are matched so the call is logged once, with its source.
Voicemail drops
Calls that reach voicemail are marked as voicemail, so they do not count as conversations in reports.
Same caller, different formats
Numbers are cleaned to one format before matching, so a caller does not end up on two leads.

Nextiva Salesforce integration FAQ
Does Nextiva connect to Salesforce out of the box?
Yes. Nextiva has a Salesforce app with click-to-dial, screen pops and call logging. We set it up and build the pieces it does not cover, such as lead creation rules, recordings on the record and call outcomes.
Where do the calls go in Salesforce?
To a custom call activity object, so long notes, AI call summaries and transcripts fit. Tasks and Events cannot hold long text.
Can we listen to recordings in Salesforce?
Yes. Recordings play from the record through a secure link.
Have you done this before?
Yes. We have built Nextiva to Salesforce integrations with lead creation, phone matching, call logging, recording playback and voicemail versus answered outcomes.
How is it priced?
By project, not by the hour. The first call is free, and you get a project quote after it.
